The project is logistically and scientifically linked to the local department of the Directorate of Antiquities of Erbil, housed in the Qishlah of Koya, an ottoman citadel built at the end of the 18th century AD.
Sarkawt Sofy coordinates the department of Antiquities with the help of Nyaz Aziz and Hemin Naman Kawes, both invaluable members of the ASK Project.
In recent years, the Qishlah of Koya has become an important cultural meeting place for young people and families.
